The frequently asked questions regarding video tutorials.
Where are the videos?
You need to become a member to see the video tutorials. Joining is
completely free and you get access to everything. Once you have
registered a link will appear on the homepage with all the videos on.
What do I need to view the videos?
Currently, our videos are in the .SWF format, however, you do not need
any particular software to view the videos, as they are streamed by our
own player. You can watch the videos without having to find any plugins
or codecs.
Why make video tutorials?
Video tutorials allow you to see exactly how each action is done. You
get to see the exact movement of the cursor and see what the editor has
clicked on. It is alot easier to follow a video tutorial than a written
one, as screenshots only show a rough image of what to do, whereas a
screen captured video is a complete video of the process. Not
only is it a video, but also audio, so you get a complete walkthrough
from the mouth of the pro's.
I'm on 56k, what do I do?
All our videos are in .SWF format, which reduces the file size. Files
will only be a few megabytes, regardless of the fact that they are
several minutes long. This means even dial-up members can access the
videos without having to wait too long.
Are all the videos free?
At this moment in time, the videos are free to download. In the future
we are likely to bring out premium videos which cover subjects in more
depth. You only need to register, which is free and fast.
I have feedback about a video, where can I submit it?
You can use the Contact Us
page to send us feedback on any of the tutorials you have seen. We
welcome feedback, both positive and negative, as the negative feedback
allows us to adapt and bring you more informative files. We can't
promise that we will reply to each email we receive, although we will
try to reply to as many as possible.
Can I submit an idea for a tutorial?
Yes, we are always looking for new ideas for video tutorials. If you
have a subject you would like us to cover, please send us an email via
the Contact Us form. Alternatively, tell us your ideas on the forum.
